Does PETG need an enclosure?

Overall, PETG is generally very easy to print with, as it requires no enclosure nor heated bed, making it compatible with virtually all FDM printers. It combines ease of printing with great strength and durability, making it a great filament choice for any print.
Does PETG need to be stored in a dry box?
All filaments need a drybox. Before any kind of plastic is injection molded, it has to be dry. I'd advocate a vacuum sealer. If they are not free of moisture then the water will turn to steam and cause little steam explosions inside of the nozzle.Does PETG need supports?
As with any other FDM printing material, some models printed in PETG may require support structures. However, once tuned for layer adhesion, PETG can stick too well to itself, making supports difficult to remove. Can PETG be left out?
If you have nylon, polycarbonate, TPU, TPE, or PETG and the spool has been sitting out for more than a day or so, then you likely need to dry it. PLA and ABS are also susceptible, but it takes quite a bit longer for them to absorb enough water to cause major issues. What filaments require enclosures?
Requirements: Printing PETG requires a heated bed and an enclosure is recommended when printing large parts. Printing PETG with good dimensional stability is similar to PLA; as instead of warping like ABS can, PETG will tend to curl at the corners.Things you should know about PETG
Is PETG stronger than PLA?
It is also more durable than PLA as well as less stiff. Generally, PETG is seen as a mixture between ABS and PLA. That means, it takes the best qualities of both to a certain degree. For example, PETG is stronger than PLA (though weaker than ABS) and more flexible than ABS (though less flexible than PLA).Does PETG produce fumes?
PETG does not emit harmful fumes. It is a recyclable thermoplastic that does not emit toxic gases or produce strong smells. This is because it's made from 100% non-toxic materials. How long can PETG stay out?
PETG filament can last a long time if it is stored in a cool place, but if the filament is exposed to heat, it will become brittle and crack, especially when simultaneously exposed to moisture. Most PETG filaments can be stored for 2 years or more before it becomes brittle and cracks.Does PETG absorb moisture after printing?
Yes PETG absorbs moisture as do pretty much all materials used for 3d printing, Nylon is very hygroscopic, PLA not so much.Does moisture affect PETG filament?
As the filaments absorb more water, they make more strings.PETG doesn't absorb too much water; Especially if you keep them in a low humidity place, there won't be severe changes. As a rule of thumb, if the relative humidity is around 30% or less, there is no need to dry PETG.
